54. How can I program the $30 Best Buy 8-device backlit Insignia NS-RMT8D21 universal remote to control the ZapperBox?

  1. Point your Insignia Universal Remote and your ZapperBox remote at each other, at about two inches apart. 

  1. Press the 'STB' button on your Insignia remote. 

  1. Press and hold the 'SETUP' button on your Insignia remote until the 'STB' button blinks twice. 

  1. Enter code '975'. The 'STB' button should blink twice. 

  1. On your Insignia remote, press the button you want to learn (Example: 'MENU'). The 'STB' button will begin blinking rapidly. 

  1. Press the corresponding button on your ZapperBox remote (Example 'Menu'). The 'STB' button will blink twice, indicating that the button was learned correctly.  

  1. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all buttons you wish to learn. 

  1. Once your Insignia universal remote has learned all the functions you need, press and hold the 'SETUP' button until the 'STB' button blinks twice. 

  1. If any buttons fail to learn, restart the process starting from step 2 for that button and try holding it down instead of pressing and releasing on the ZapperBox remote.
