We handle repairs as follows:
- We handle repairs by sending you a refurbished unit and a pre-paid return label that you can use to return your defective unit to us.
- We depreciate your hardware at 20% per year.
- Round trip shipping cost is $25.
- The refurbished unit sent to you carries a one-year warranty.
- The underlying warranty goes back to the date of the first purchase. This means that a repair does not reset the 5-year depreciation clock on your original purchase.
Consider the following example: The M1 is priced at $275 and 20% of that is $55. This means that you will see the following replacement cost: Second year $55, third year $110, fourth year $165, fifth year $220, and sixth year onwards $275. Plus, the $25 round trip shipping.
- We plan to launch an extended warranty program that will be priced at an annual payment equal to 8% of the list price with the following terms:
- The warranty will cover breakdowns but not physical, electrical, or water damage to the product.
- $20/incident to cover round-trip shipping
- The product must be in continuous coverage after purchase
- The owner can buy into the plan by paying 2.5 times the continuous coverage cost.
- ZapperBox retains the right to terminate the warranty program at any time by paying back prorated unused warranty money
Under this plan, the annual extended warranty fee for the M1 will be $22.
